The working-class estate of La Raye-Dieu has all the makings of an ugly place: rows of multi-storey houses lined up as straight as a ruler, all identical, with the neighbourhood bisected by two straight roads. But Suzanne and Lucien\u2019s home backs onto a lovely garden. It was here that their son Henry was born one day in October 1930, under the warm autumn sun.<\/p>\n
Henry Bosdecher worked at the Michelin factory in Clermont-Ferrand from 1952 to 1976. He lived through the Occupation, then experienced factory life and labour disputes in the years following the war. A man of great sensitivity, open to the beauty of the world, he could have become a painter, a poet or a musician. He died in tragic circumstances, leaving behind a sense of mystery.<\/p>\n
In this book, his son recounts the life of a simple man of infinite nobility, a working-class artist, a humble yet remarkable man who knew the hustle and bustle of the workshops.<\/p>\n
