Artoyz the Michelin Man Chevalier – Michelin Collectors

19,00 incl. tax 15,83 ex. tax

Beautiful evocation of an O’Galop poster broadcast in 1907. It was intended for the British market and featured the Michelin Man in armor. It is also a nod to the British poet Alfred Lord Tennyson in the poem Sir Galahad: ‘My Strength is as the strength of ten, because my heart is pure’. Skillfully, O’Galop replaces heart with rubber, which gives us in French: “My Strength is as the strength of ten, because my rubber is pure”. The coat of arms of this knight shows André Michelin’s spectacles, an indestructible air chamber, a bowl full of shards of bottles and nails, and three of Bibendum’s famous cigars.
