Art Print – Makes a film

39,00

In the mid-1920s, Michelin ushered in a real revolution in the automobile world by inventing the “Comfort” tyre. To prove that its low-pressure tire would stay securely on the rim, Michelin used techniques borrowed from the cinema, which was all the rage at the time. It was the golden age of the silent film, with comic pranks revolving around the automobile in shorts by Max Linder in France, and by Charlot, Buster Keaton, and Laurel and Hardy in the United States. This English poster is advertising a promotional cinema screening. It shows the Michelin Man in an uncomfortable position, filming the vehicle driving over an obstacle with a glass of milk placed on a step.
